Alumni gather for annual Boar’s Head holiday celebration

Campus sparkled with twinkling lights, and the holiday vibe was strong at the Turner Lynch Campus Center for the Boar’s Head Evening of Holiday Enchantment. Alumni representing classes from 1973 to 2023 spent the evening catching up with friends and toasting the holiday season.

Class Notes

Ken Davis ’64 recently received the 2023 Distinguished Staff Alumni Award from the Philmont Staff Association (PSA). Ken has spent a lifetime in service to the nation and to Scouting – particularly the Order of the Arrow – for which he has been a national committee member for 48 years. Ken also served 18 years on the PSA’s board of directors, and has a distinguished service record including the U.S. Army Signal Corps and Army Reserve; he is a Vietnam War veteran and a retired colonel. His career spans government service, including 30 years at the National Archives, and Scouting. He is the author of the definitive histories of the Order of the Arrow, Wood Badge, and the PSA.

Carly Harringon ’96 and her family are now the owners of the Floor Coverings International location in South Atlanta.

Christina Zaytsev Henry ’10 relocated to Kalamazoo, MI from Atlanta, GA in 2022 and married Justin Henry on June 3, 2023.

Lisanne Edelman Walker ’14 and Campbell Walker ’11 were married on June 3, 2023. Though friends during their time at Oglethorpe, they reconnected through the Oglethorpe Alumni Association’s virtual St. Patrick’s Day event in March of 2021, and the rest is history.
