Live stream the presidential inauguration
Next week marks the inauguration of Dr. Kathryn McClymond as the 18th president of the university. If you are unable to join us in person, you can tune in to the live stream.
Alumna establishes housing endowment
Harsinie Panditaratne ’01 has established the Panditaratne Housing Scholarship Endowment, a generous endowment dedicated to supporting current students facing financial challenges related to housing.
Nominate an outstanding alumni
The Alumni Association annually presents four Alumni Awards honoring the significant accomplishments and contributions of alumni to the university, community and professional fields. Read more about the award criteria, and nominate outstanding alumni by October 1.
Help grow the Intercultural Center’s library by donating a book
Alumni are encouraged to donate a book that helped shape their identity, validated their sense of self, allowed them to explore a diverse perspective, or promoted understanding and allyship.

When checking out, mark your purchase as a gift and include a note. Your name and note will be printed in the cover of the book to inspire and encourage current students.

Presidential tour
This fall, President McClymond will begin a tour of cities across the country, where she will meet with alumni and share more about her vision for the university. You can participate in a city near you.

Accounting Mixer and Happy Hour, Thursday, September 26
Join us on Thursday, September 26, for an Accounting Mixer with current Hammack School of Business Students and an Accounting Alumni Happy Hour. First, alumni will have an opportunity to help current students learn about networking tips, resume writing, internship opportunities, and more. Afterward, you are invited to a special happy hour to connect with other alumni in the accounting industry.

Alumni Day at the Braves, September 29
Join fellow Oglethorpe Alumni on Sunday, September 29 at Truist Park to cheer on the Atlanta Braves as they take on the Kansas City Royals at 3:20 p.m. Your ticket includes admission to the game and a $20 credit that can be used at the Concessions Stands or Clubhouse Store.
Alumni Soccer Tailgate, Saturday, October 5
Join fellow alumni and families for the Alumni Soccer Tailgate! Cheer on the Stormy Petrels as they take on the Sewanee Tigers. We will host an Alumni VIP section by the field, so you can mingle with friends while watching the game!

Jonathan Chadwick ’05 works his 1,000th consecutive Braves game. He became the producer of the Braves Radio Network before the 2018 season and has since been elevated to an executive producer role.
Stacey Chavis ’07 was recently elected to serve on the League of Women Voters of the United States Board of Directors.
Cameron Bready ’94 was named one of Atlanta’s Most Admired CEOs of 2024 by the Atlanta Business Chronicle.
Cliff Robinson ’89, Chick-fil-A’s current chief people officer, has been named COO. His responsibilities will expand to include field operations and restaurant development. Robinson, who has worked at the company for more than 30 years, will step into his new position on Oct. 1.

“The Gaze” exhibit is presented in collaboration with The Ikouii Creative, the exhibit features works from artists living with and without disability and illustrates themes of ableism, advocacy and inclusion.
