Alumni Art Showcase
The Oglethorpe Museum of Art and Office of Alumni Engagement are pleased to present the Oglethorpe University Alumni Art Exhibition. We are looking to display art from every generation and welcome submissions of designs, illustrations, applied arts, or animations. The Exhibition will open in the Philip Weltner Library on March 28 during Alumni Weekend and remain on display until June 29. In addition, select pieces of work will be displayed at the Oglethorpe University Museum of Art Center Gallery from March 28 – June 29.
All Oglethorpe University alumni may enter up to three pieces of work for consideration by a selection committee. The work must be no larger than 48 inches x 48 inches (including the frame). Our selection committee members will be:

Details
Entry fee: There is no fee to enter. If you would like to support programming at Oglethorpe, you can donate to the Oglethorpe Museum of Art (OUMA). Support of OUMA helps provide free general admission and low or no-cost programs for students and the public. Each year OUMA brings unique events and exhibitions to the region and highlights the work of artists who are traditionally marginalized through the museum’s focus on underserved populations, equity, and accessibility.

Submission artwork through this online form: Alumni Art Showcase Submission
- High-resolution image of the work saved as a .jpg. The file name should be saved as “FirstName_LastName_WorkTitle.jpg.”
- Image list of the work that includes:
- Work title
- Work year
- Material
- Dimensions
- Brief description (optional)
Notification of Selection: January 15, 2024
Drop-off/ship by: Work must arrive by March 17. Artists can either Ship or hand deliver to the address below. Oglethorpe University is not responsible for work damaged or lost in transit.

Rules of participation: All Oglethorpe University alumni are eligible to enter up to three pieces of original work created since graduation and completed within the last five years. The exhibition will be held in the Phillip Weltner Library and select pieces will be displayed in the OUMA Center Gallery. Due to limited space, all work entered should be no larger than 48 inches on any side, including a frame. At least one piece will be considered for the exhibition.
Hanging and display requirements: Make sure all artwork is framed and/or ready to hang and display (hardware attached on back). Include instructions for wall-mounted sculptures or other work with specific installation requirements.
Insurance: Oglethorpe University will assume responsibility for artwork during the exhibition while in the gallery but does not assume any liability in any other location or in the shipment. Artists must insure their own work while in transit to and from OUMA and declare the value of their work prior to shipment.
Agreement: Oglethorpe University Museum of Art and the selection committee reserve the right to remove any artwork that is deemed improperly presented, unsafe, damaged, or fails to meet the size limitations and framing or hanging standards.
Participation in the exhibition constitutes an agreement on the part of the entrant to all conditions set forth in this framework.
