How to Give

How you give is wide open

No matter how you choose to give, making a gift to Oglethorpe is an expression of generosity – and in making that expression, you have complete flexibility.

The easiest way to give is to donate online, but you could also donate goods or services, or plan for a future donation. You also have an opportunity to be imaginative – to personalize your gift, no matter the amount.

You might endow a scholarship fund – even meet the deserving, inspiring young person whom you helped achieve his or her educational dreams. Or you could fund a project, professor or initiative in academics, athletics or other areas.

The opportunities are endless.

Cash Gifts

Cash gifts can be made online, over the phone, via monthly deduction or by check.

Gifts in Kind

Oglethorpe University’s gifts-in-kind program integrates your and/or your organizations’ donated assets, products or services with our academic, facilities and student life programs. Often they represent a great opportunity for you, companies and other entities to employ their unique assets to support the university’s educational efforts. We define a gift-in-kind as a non-cash donation of a good or service. Oglethorpe accepts gifts-in-kind that support the fulfillment of its academic, museum, performing arts, athletic and facilities goals.

Gifts of Art, Stock or Securities

Donations of art, stocks, and securities are excellent ways to support the University.

A gift of art will allow the Oglethorpe Museum of Art to continue its mission of showing nationally and internationally recognized artists and exhibits. It also helps ensure that Oglethorpe is fulfilling its goal to provide a superior liberal arts education by truly hands-on experience of the arts.

Matching Gift Program

Many companies encourage their employees to contribute annually to their alma maters. They do this by agreeing to match the employee’s gift. Matching gifts are very important to the Oglethorpe Annual Fund.
