Golden Petrels Giving Campaign

Calling all Golden Petrels!

Each year a new class of alumni are welcomed into the Golden Petrel Society, which recognizes Oglethorpe’s graduates of 50 years ago or more. Throughout the years, each class of Golden Petrel Society inductees has been invited to make a contribution to the Golden Petrel Endowed Scholarship Fund, to continue the Golden Petrel tradition of enriching the educational experience of the next generation of Petrel students.

The Golden Petrels Endowed Scholarship Fund was established in 2014 through the generosity of the Classes of 1963 and 1964 as part of the celebration of their 50th reunions. The intention of the scholarship is “to give to others, so they too can be enriched by an Oglethorpe education.” The scholarship is awarded each year to a student who demonstrates this commitment through volunteerism, philanthropy, community service or other ways of giving of themselves to others.

We ask you to consider celebrating the Class of 1974 and all Golden Petrels with a gift to the Golden Petrels Endowed Scholarship that supports current OU students.

Matching Gift Challenge

This year, Neil Tofsky ’74, his wife Pam Crystal Tofsky ’76, and their family generously offered to match the first $7,500 raised toward this fund. Thanks to them, and the generosity of so many Golden Petrels, the challenge has been met, raising $15,000 so far this year for the Golden Petrel Scholarship Endowment Fund!

Keep the momentum going! There is still an opportunity to support OU students. Every gift helps to grow this scholarship endowment fund, ensuring that the scholarship awarded each year can make a meaningful impact for students. Make your gift today!
