Fall reception held for the first graduates of the class of 2024
On December 15, Oglethorpe celebrated the hard work and commitment of students who satisfied degree requirements during the fall 2023 semester, welcoming them to the alumni community.

Do you want to hire an OU student?
The Oglethorpe Office of Career Development has an opportunity for alumni to share “micro-internships” with students. Micro-internships are short-term, paid, professional assignments, similar to those given to new hires or interns. These projects enable Oglethorpe students to demonstrate skills, explore career paths, and build their networks.

Alumni Basketball Tailgate, February 9
Whether you are a former basketball team member or a Petrel fan (or both), join us for a tailgate in conjunction with the Women’s and Men’s Basketball games.
Theatre Reception and Production: “Everybody’s Talking About Jamie,” February 17
All alumni are invited to a reception with Dr. McClymond, production director Freddie Ashley, and OU students prior to this evening’s performance of “Everybody’s Talking About Jamie,” a co-production with Actor’s Express featuring many OU students in the cast and crew. Stay for the performance to see the exceptional talent of our students and the Actor’s Express cast.
Oglethorpe Night at Top Golf, February 28
Join Dr. McClymond and fellow alumni for a night at Top Golf in Alpharetta. Kick off the evening with an opportunity to hear from the university president over appetizers, and then join your fellow Petrels in a game of Top Golf.
Beakers and Brews STEM Alumni Reunion, March 1
All Science and Mathematics alumni are invited to return to campus on March 1 to reconnect with former faculty members and each other. In addition, you’ll have an opportunity to meet current faculty members and hear the latest updates from campus.

Jude Gelman ’11 began a career with DeKalb County Public Library in March 2023.
Emily Legg Jackson ’15 welcomed a baby girl, Charlotte Martha Jackson, with her husband, Stephen, on April 22, 2023. Mom, dad, and baby Charlotte are all happy and healthy.
Dr. Victoria C. Lloyd ’16 graduated from Louisiana State University with both her doctorate in educational research and leadership (focus on college access via state finance policy) and her second master’s degree in education research measurement and evaluation. Her dissertation can be viewed online.
India Martin ’23 was named the new Marketing and Fan Engagement Coordinator for Athletics at Auburn University at Montgomery.

OUMA Community Day | Estampas de la Raza: Contemporary Prints from the Romo Collection, January 13
Oglethorpe University Museum of Art will host a special community day on January 13, from 1-4 p.m., featuring refreshments from local Hispanic/Latino vendors; tours of the latest dynamic print exhibition “Estampas de la Raza: Contemporary Prints from the Romo Collection” (open through January 31) by trained, bilingual student docents; information about Oglethorpe University’s new Intercultural Center; and more. “Everybody’s Talking About Jamie,” February 17 – March 3
Oglethorpe University and Actor’s Express are teaming up again to co-produce the West End smash hit musical, “Everybody’s Talking About Jamie,” the story of a teenager who must overcome his naysayers to become a fabulous drag queen. Nine Oglethorpe Theatre students have been cast in the production, as well as one alumna and 22 students in the crew. Learn more and get tickets >
