New staff member joins Alumni team
Later this month alumna Alyssa Merletti ’23 will join the staff of the Office of Alumni Engagement. Learn more about her and join us in welcoming her back to OU!
Alumni day at the Atlanta Braves
Join fellow Oglethorpe Alumni on Sunday, September 29 at Truist Park to cheer on the Atlanta Braves as they take on the Kansas City Royals at 3:20 p.m. Your ticket includes admission to the game and a $20 credit that can be used at the Concessions Stands or Clubhouse Store.

Cody Partin ’02 has been named the incoming leader of the Cox Family Office and will succeed Sandy Schwartz, who is retiring at the end of the year.
JoAnn Tippett ’04 was recently accepted into Colorado Mountain College and will return to school in August to earn her associate’s degree in paralegal studies.
Carly Hallman ’08 has joined Braviant Holdings, LLC, as Vice President of Marketing.
Jose Franco ’18 and Milena Walch ’19 were married in Athens, GA, surrounded by family and friends. Several Oglethorpe Alumni were present, including some of Jose’s Delta Sigma Phi brothers. Dr. Milena Walch Franco graduated from UGA’s Veterinary School of Medicine in May 2023 and now resides in Atlanta, GA, where she is a veterinarian for VCA Animal Hospital. Jose Franco runs his own tax accounting firm in Atlanta, serving hundreds of clients each year.
Wynne Kelly ’24 and Chloe Campbell ’24 have been cast in the Actor’s Express production of Cabaret.

OUMA Exhibition: The Gaze, July 12 – December 1
“The Gaze” exhibit is presented in collaboration with The Ikouii Creative, the exhibit features works from artists living with and without disability and illustrates themes of ableism, advocacy and inclusion.
Oglethorpe University Presidential Inauguration, September 19-20
All alumni are invited back to campus this fall to attend the investiture ceremony for Dr. Kathryn McClymond, 18th president of the university. There are many events surrounding the ceremony, including a campus service project, faculty lecture and celebration lunch.
